CORVALLIS, Ore. — A new collaboration between Oregon State University and the Technology Association of Oregon is expanding access to high-quality online education for an estimated 90,000 employees of TAO member organizations.
The agreement makes TAO members and their spouses eligible for a 15% tuition scholarship for all Oregon State online degrees and programs.
TAO represents a diverse network of more than 400 technology-focused businesses across the state, fostering innovation, collaboration and workforce development in Oregon’s growing tech industry. This new collaboration aligns with that mission by making it more affordable for employees to develop new skills and advance their careers through Oregon State’s nationally ranked online programs.
“Oregon State University and the Technology Association of Oregon share a strong commitment to innovation and workforce development,” said Lisa L. Templeton, vice provost of OSU’s Division of Educational Ventures. “By working together, we are creating new opportunities for professionals across the state to access high-quality education, gain in-demand skills and contribute to the continued success of Oregon’s tech industry.”
Oregon State delivers more than 110 degrees, certificates and microcredentials online through Ecampus, the university’s online education unit. OSU is ranked among the nation’s best providers of online education, and its online students have access to comprehensive support services, including academic advising, career resources and success coaching — all while learning from expert OSU faculty.
TAO plays a vital role in supporting Oregon’s technology ecosystem, bringing together companies, entrepreneurs and industry leaders to drive economic growth and innovation. This collaboration with Oregon State provides TAO members with new opportunities to develop or refine skills in fields such as computer science, business, cybersecurity and data analytics.
“The Technology Association of Oregon is committed to driving the growth and success of Oregon’s technology industry by ensuring our workforce has access to the education and skills needed to lead in a rapidly evolving landscape,” said Skip Newberry, TAO’s president and CEO. “This collaboration expands opportunities for our members to gain high-quality education, fostering innovation and strengthening the tech sector across the state.”
This is the latest effort by Oregon State to expand access to education through collaborations with leading organizations including Amazon, Guild, EdAssist by Bright Horizons, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police.
