3 College of Education faculty promoted by trustees

The Purdue University Board of Trustees on Friday (April 4) approved faculty promotions, including three College of Education faculty members. The following promotions are effective with the 2025-26 academic year. COLLEGE OF EDUCATIONTo Full Professor  Chrystal Johnson, professor of curriculum and instruction Johnson’s current research interests focus on race, culturally consonant pedagogy, character development, civic education, and schools of choice.  Stephanie Masta, professor of curriculum and instruction Masta is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie tribe of Chippewa Indians, and much of her research focuses on the experiences of Brown and Black individuals in K-20 educational environments, with particular interest in Indigenous peoples and their relationships to academic spaces.  Trish Morita-Mullaney, professor of curriculum and instruction Morita-Mullaney’s research focuses on the intersections between language learning, gender and race and how this informs the identity acts of educators of bilingual students.  Congratulations, Boilermaker Educators! The Purdue University Board of Trustees on Friday (April 4) approved faculty promotions, including three College of Education faculty members. The following promotions are effective with the 2025-26 academic year.

Dr. Chrystal Johnson

Chrystal Johnson, professor of curriculum and instruction

Johnson’s current research interests focus on race, culturally consonant pedagogy, character development, civic education, and schools of choice.
